What’s new: Free Trials Performance Report, Paddle Integration, SDK Updates, and more

This release also includes beta integration with Paddle for web-based payment tracking, enhanced OneSignal integration, manual rules enhancements, improved subscription events, upgraded user authentication, and SDK updates.

The new advanced Free Trials Performance report provides a comprehensive view of user engagement and conversion performance metrics related to app downloads, free trials, and billing recovery.

With more than 30 metrics available, this report helps you understand how effectively free trials convert to paid subscriptions after a billing issue across products and countries.

It also tracks user behavior from the moment they install or reinstall the app through the trial and subscription lifecycle, offering insight into the following areas:

• User Acquisition and Trial Engagement: Metrics such as New Users, Redownloads provide insight into app installs, while Free Trials, Day 0 Trials, Session 0 Trials, and Re-engagement Trials help evaluate how effective the app is in encouraging users to start a free trial.
• Trial and Subscription Conversions: The report tracks the number and rate of free trials converting into paid subscriptions through metrics like Total Trial Conversions and Install-to-Conversion Rate. It also provides detailed breakdowns of when and how trials convert, whether On-time Conversions or those recovered from Billing Issues.
• Billing and Retention Issues: Detailed tracking of Billing Issues and their recovery rates allows for monitoring how well the app recovers users from payment failures and subscription interruptions, highlighting key pain points in retention.
• Cancellations and User Behavior: The report includes metrics like User Initiated Cancellations and Average Time to User Cancellation which provide insights into how fast users churn. This might be useful for marketing optimizations.

Apphud now offers the ability to track web-based payments processed through Paddle. This functionality allows web subscriptions to be tracked within Apphud and users to be granted premium access to mobile apps following their web subscription purchases.

• OneSignal Integration Enhancement: You can now enter the REST API key directly in the OneSignal integration settings. If you are experiencing problems with event delivery, please make sure this key is added.
• Manual Rules Update: When a manual rule is triggered, it will remain in the "Running" state for 24 hours. This allows users who missed or ignored the push notification to still launch the app and see the relevant Apphud Screen.
• Subscription Events Update: For iOS, the "Subscription Canceled," "Trial Canceled," and "Subscription Expired" events, created from a Grace Period, will now have the creation time set to the current server time instead of the latest receipt expiration date.
• Improved User Authentication: Addressing client feedback, the issue of being prompted to sign in to the web dashboard too frequently has been resolved.
• StoreKit Transaction History V2 Upgrade: We've upgraded to StoreKit Transaction History V2, allowing all previous consumable purchases to be restored, if the In-App Purchase key is provided in the app settings.
